STEM Lesson Reflection

STEM Lesson Reflection

I found the 5 E's to be very helpful in my planning because it made the lesson development easy. This lesson format is very different from how I normally plan. My plans are usually much less formal because submitting them to administration has not been a requirement for tenured teachers until now. One logistical issue is building time into the lesson each day for observation while still covering needed content. The investigation will be time consuming.

  1. Jen,

I agree with you, the template was tedious and it is much easier to hand in the lesson plan in a natural way then the rigorous template. I will say,I personally believe that after mastering the template we will be in fact better equiped to offer differentiated instruction? Your thoughts

  2. Hi Jen,
I also found this format much more inclusive than what I am used to. I did struggle a bit with this format,as well, and found myself repeating some information. I also believe I included too much information in other sections. That being said the 5 E's are extremely useful in planning and I find I implement them in my planning regardless.

  3. I also found the lesson template confusing and at times overlapping. It is different from what I use in my classroom and have used in the past. I use the Five E's and they are worked into the packaged curriculum that we used with our sixth grade. The template will help ensure that I do make the necessary adjustments that I need to to meet the needs of all of my students.
